    if you want to be more confused, in the states the top brand of oatmeal is called 'Quaker rolled oats' :confused: :rotfl:

    good quality rolled oats are just that, whole rolled oats and not steamed /mushed oat flakes as in some lesser products.

    I see they show pinhead oatmeal, I always add some of that to my porridge for it's lovely texture :)

    there are 2 other grades commonly available, medium & fine, & you occasionally see a coarse meal

    this is what you need to make oatcakes, I usually mix medium with a little pinhead ... rolled oats don't work at all

    Any help on recipe for flapjack, looked on internet and some are different ingredients&cookng times!

    the recipe I have used is the one on the recipe list see this link http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=34029#post34029
    I added sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, apricots, sultanas, and chopped up chocolate to the basic recipe given by halloweenqueen, tasted realy good just eaten 2 while surfing the site!!!
