Hi,
I believe Rolled oats are porridge oats (as opposed to oatmeal), so you have the correct version.
Ooooohhhhhh, flapjack, lovely!

WOW quick response. Thanks to all!!
Did look in the flour section but had DD's with me (also why are there never any staff about when I can't find anything, not even one of the internet shoppers!)
I'll have another look on wed in the Extra, when I should do my weekly shop ;-)

I had porridge for brekky and often make flapjack rolled oats are also great for padding out mince. Brown the mince and once the fat has began to run stir in the oats, by the time the dish is cooked you cannot tell what's meat and what's oat. I also add oats to my crumble mix when I have a mind both sweet and savoury to add more texture. HTHLife's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0

you're right, they are the same thing
although the terminology's always puzzled me, because porridge was originally made from oatmeal, before rolled oats came along0 -
Glad you asked this. I used morrisons porridge oats in a flapjack recipe yesterday and they came out more like toffee than flapjacks. Our visitors loved them and so did we, but they couldn't have been described as flapjacks. I thought maybe it was cos of the oats I used. I must have done something else wrong.
No harm in making another batch.:j
