Hi all, A friend of mine has asked for your help please. (I have scanner!)
He recieved ticket a few days ago however when looking at ticket details he noticed wrong vehicle "Make" had been filled in (eg Vauxall instead of say Ford).
Also: in the tear off slip on bottom of ticket "Location: ______ " had been left blank. Does any error like this have grounds for voiding ticket? (registration is correct).
What should he do next?
Here's link to uploaded ticket (his details have been blanked out of course).

Your advice will be much appreciated.

I'm not an expert but if the CEO couldn't get the make of car correct, it'd be interesting to see them justify other observations made about an alleged lack of permit, at a PATAS hearing.
Also the PCN (assuming you've posted all of it) doesn't seem to tell you anything about payment in 28 days, that you can pay the reduced rate in 14 days, or that a Notice to Owner is sent after 28 days.
Wait till Neil sees it though as he's one of the experts
EDIT - ignore this and see below post - didn't realise it was under old regs.0 -
Issued under RTRA 1984 - they are always difficult to dispute. I can't remember now - did it offer an initial appeal to the Council?
Ultimate recourse is in Magistrates Court and they are a fickle bunch and never keen to see parking matters unless ther is something VERY worthwhile disputing. Doing so can ultimately cost more.
On vehicle make - irrelevant for these. they will use the 'slip rule' even if they get it wrong again on the summons.
The location issue is interesting though. That may well be an essential requirement but I am simply not sure.
For this particular case I recommend you ask the experts on PePiPoo forums who have more knowledge about RTRA 1984.

Seems the response so far is pretty much as I've said here.
Just thinking about it - if your friend was actually illegally parked then i certainly wouldn't recommend arguing it in front of a Mag - despite any technicality.
if there is an initial appeal route to East Riding DC - try it and see what they say. If rejected - IMO - pay.

Thanks to all for the advice.
He was working in a local shop and had parked outside the shop for longer than the hour but not by much. The bizzare thing is he was working in the same shop again on monday he parked in same place for the free hour then moved his car to the pay and display park adjacent to the road. Put a two hour ticket in the window and went back to work. A traffic warden gave him a ticket again. This time because they said he was not displaying a ticket. He showed the warden the parking ticket stuck on the drivers window. Traffic warden said he was going to void the ticket when he got back to the office. We will wait and see.0
