Kia Sportage
Hi all
I have been a viewer of this website for the last few years but this is my first posting on the forums. I thought I would ask for views on this particular car.
I'm looking for a cheap reliable car with plenty of space for dogs etc. And because I have trouble getting in and out of cars due to a bad back, I primarily am looking at compact 4x4s.
Have been looking at Nissan X-Trails (good but basic), Rav4s (boot too small), Hyundai Santa Fe (not planted on roads). The Kia Sportage seems extremely good value for money as well as a good car for the roads (not so good off-road). Not interested in the Freelander!
But I must admit I'm a little cagey about buying a Kia. Have any of you come across these cars and wish to share their views?
Thanks.
Shaun

The Kia Sportage is a Hyundai Tucson in different clothes. If you like the Sportage, have a look at the Tucson as well as, being a slightly older model, it's cheaper, and of course comes with a 5-year warranty.
I wouldn't worry about owning a Hyundai/Kia; they're very reliable (JD Power satisfaction survey put the Kia Sorento as being the most satisfying 4x4 around, and the Santa Fe the most reliable, ahead of the Japanese brands) and the dealer after-sales service is one of the better ones around.0 -
Kia & Hyundai are doing to the Japanese brands, what they did to the British brands, years back - giving the customer value for money & reliable, affordable motoring.
Sportage, would be more sensible proposition, than, say Freelander & much cheaper!!
