Stupid question, but does petroleum jelly count as a 'liquid/gel' at the airport?

Hi all

I'm helping a friend has planned a surprise trip for his wife & I'm helping to pack for his wife & the baby.

Does petroleum jelly (Vaseline) count as a 'liquid/gel' that has to be under 100ml in hand luggage?

thanks:)

Why not take one of those small tin pots of vaseline, think they are 99p,depends on how much is needed I suppose, but they are great fro travel and save on space.

Wait until through security and then buy whatever you need.

I had bad chapped lips when we went away, so I just waited until through security and got some carmex and blistex.
Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...
  • its hit and miss as to what they decide to take off you!
i travelled through from gatwick with mini aerosols that were hairspray, body spray shower foam and shaving foam and they were fine but they confiscated my sealed baby foods.
on the way back from paphos they confiscated all the mini sprays:confused: (apart from one that had fallen out in my bag:rolleyes: ), they seem to be unsure of the rules themselves as it says you cant take mascara in hand luggage yet mam took hers through fine yet had other stuff taken all under the limit so i think they take the stuff they can use again! my moms friend had an argument in aerica as they tried to take her expensive lipsticks and she wasnt handing them over:rotfl:
you can get smaller tubs of vaseline but if you need a big tub then id put it in your hold luggage to save the hassle:rolleyes:
