student loans arent strictly interest free....although you dont pay interest on them they are based on the rate of inflation. at the moment my debt stands at around £10k and it's about £10 a week interest. i understand that its fair interest should start once you take out the loan, as with any other loan, but on the flip side i think that it is unfair as you will naturally not start paying it off until the april after you graduate at the earliest, so by then you've accumulated 3 and a half years of interest on it with no chance to start paying it back.

the loans are also dependant on you being in attendance on your course. if you leave, the loan stops.

and yeah you only get funding for a first degree, aside from a few post grad such as pgce, so couldnt continually take out student loans to live off.

you also only get a couple false starts, so couldnt bum around and re enrol as a student each year for the loan

Thank you! Asda had them for £1 the other day so I got the 6 I needed for nephews/nieces/friends kids etc then my Mam asked me to get her 5 as I owe her £5 so went back and the offer wasn't on ... it was 3 for £5 instead :rolleyes: OH taking me to Tesco later though so fingers crossed they have some :T

:T :T I have not done ANY of the housework and WON'T....He had a guy's night out last night, he does the washing up today :mad: :mad: he won't let me settle into being a taken-for-granted housewife.....

Went shopping and bought myself a lovely wine colour top and a blue eye crayon..oh and I put a lot of bets on!!! He will now learn my rules :mad:
