Cathy Exactly...I was the same.....I was telling my girls yesterday how my mom pieced together a Valentines Card I had off a boy in 6th form and then gave me a right wollaping cause it was rude..:oI was 17 but ripped it into lots of pieces and she saw me put it in the bin...
...I'm not like that with my kids but I am strict...Louanne has been going over the park this week with her friends but has to be in for 4.30 and she is 12...13 in 3 weeks....Am I being too strict I ask myself......? If I dont do this I may end up with the opposite of a good kid...I've had 5 kids and all hell would break loose if I had someone knock the door about any of them...They need to be bought up with respect..Toniq is absolutly right...We are cowering to their every need and the law needs to change...Sorry but I wont accept Crap of kids/teenagers..Dont give a damn what the law says...There Rant over ....sorry:o

Wow bringing up kids sounds really hard. How do you know what to do when they are babies, let alone when they are teenagers. Don't think I'd be cut out for it somehow.Life is all about the journey.0

WELL SAID !
You are so right. Like toniq said kids have no respect for authority these days. We have had problems in the past with kids chucking fireworks. Our house is right beside a secondry school. The kids threw them in frount of a policeman and were laughing coz he was on his own so couldn't do anything!
No shops near by so they must have had them in their schoolbags all day. Headteacher says he can't search them as it is an infringement of their rights:eek::AIt matters not how long a stars shines ,what is remembered is the brightness of it's light.

Splodz....Just bring children up with loads of love....Money doesn't mean anything just Love.....Always treat a child / youth how you want to be treated....Reece and Bryn are almost 22 and 19 and they are my best friends...I respect them and they respect me. I dont pry into their lives as they are grown men but they are such good lads...I've been really lucky with the kids...No probs with any of them really...I have to keep a tight rein on Lou cause she hits 13 next week ..At the moment its all make-up and boys ..And answering me sometimes like a little Chav...But we aint having none of it...Her dad grounded her last week cause she spoke to me quite harshly....;)
Dont believe in smacking....Sorry to moms who do..Nothing against anyone smacking their kids just found this worked for me and mine...Had a mom who loved to use the belt/slipper and so I dont believe in using my hands on a child really means anything......I ground them and keep back pocket money.....

Other than calling me a bum bit, im lucky with evan, he realisess how well off he is compared to lot of kids,he is spoken to not hollered at, and does chores to earn pocket money, i never smack, but give him early beds an he loses priviliges like ds and wii if he misbehaves xx#JusticeForGrenfell0

ktflosspot......that's shocking, Can't believe what I just read......Lou is 12 and said a girl in her year had 2 pregnancy scares and takes drugs... Whats happening to kids today.
It's scary. I "waited" til I was 17, for a start, although I did get a tattoo when I was 13....
Happy birthday Jenni and ClarkeJ!!
Morning all....0 -

Most of his pals are great although it costs a small fortune in pizza at the weekends.Don't mind really. When we first lost dd and started fundraising for her nursery the boys did a sponsored walk and arranged it all themselves and raised 880 quid between 4 of them and they were all 12 at the time.:T
((((((((KT))))))) It's all about taking the time to be a proper parent. There's the teenage attitude but it's up to parents to teach their kids how to behave so they don't go off the rails. You sound a great mother and should be really proud. I am sorry you lost your DD; I didn't know. *hugs*0 -
I've told Aaron that he forgets I was a teenager once.....and I know every trick in the book:rotfl:
He can be a wee bit cheeky sometimes but I always get him back. I once changed all the ringtones on his phone to Dolly Parton songs and phoned him at school and when he was really trying to show off in frount of his pals when they were having a sleepover I waited till they were playing football and changed all his bedding and curtains to old postman pat ones. :rotfl::AIt matters not how long a stars shines ,what is remembered is the brightness of it's light.
