DD got three valentines cards; she's growing up so (too) fast! She was thrilled "My first proper valentines"! What a special age, everything new and shiny. That's my best gift todayBut there are dreams that cannot be,and there are storms we cannot weather!0 -

Toni, I would definitely agree that Paul needs to get out there....being honest with you there is no loyalty these days. My friend was with a company 25 years and just got made redundant. I have been with my company 3 years and am barely getting any work. You have to look after No. 1 these days. Sorry to sound pessimistic but you know....0

EEk! major decisions in topsy towers!
Pauls job has suddenly took a dire twist seems his company r struggling to keep their contracts and him and a few others in the southern branches might be surplus to requirments, he doesn't know for sure yet but it could be likely he will know in the next few weeks for def if they have held onto major clients.
So he has got his C.V out to quite a few computer staffing agencies today and there actually seems to be quite a few oracle d.b.a roles that he is ideal for around london area, more than what he thought.
Catch is does he risk walking away from a company that MIGHT lay him off to a new job ?
or does he hold fire?
i've said get yourself out there as alot r offering 20/25k more so even if he only gets a years contract elsewhere we can save the extra till he finds more stable employment.
He is so wary, understandably as we have lots on this year, but i don't reckon he should wait and be in the position of being jobless itms xx
He will get work as alot of agencies have contacted him since he started in this role wondering if he is still in the market, decisions, decisions .
It will work out , it always does xxx
Another point is if they are offering more money, it is another plus,
I would say test the field, if he is offered a job with more money a bonus

Happy Valentine's Day all. Hugs and good vibes to all who need them. xx
Toni - would Paul be entitled to any redundancy pay if they were to lay him off? If it would be a sizeable sum it may be something to take into consideration. The city has certainly changed over the last few months, pubs and bars that used to be packed to the rafters after work on a Friday are now almost empty0 -
The postie is so inconsistent...sometimes he's here 7am and today there's still no sign of our mail.0
