Ford Fiesta 2nd annual Service
My Ford Fiesta is shortly due to have its second interim service.
The car has done around 14000 miles and is a 3 door 53 Reg 1.4i 16 valve petrol engine.
When I phoned my local Ford dealer they quoted me a price of £130.00. for the service but also said that they recommend a brake fluid change on the 2nd interim service at an extra cost of £39.95. but they did stress that this was not compulsory.
Would I need to change the brake fluid so soon on a relatively new vehicle?
or is this just another way of parting with customers money?

Brake fluid changes ARE a good idea & often neglected.
Yours (assuming you've had no work carried out on the brakes) is now possibly 4 years old, so wouldn't be money wasted.Over time, the fluid absobs moisture, which affects it's ability to operate & you COULD suffer brake fade/failure, on heavy application, of the brake pedal.
One thing you might consider, has your Ford dealer got a 'Rapid Fit,' workshop?This is their fast fit type operation, but using Ford mechanics, parts & lower prices - might be worth checking the service/brake fluid change, price in there!You'd still have warranties & main dealer service history, maintained.
