uneven volume levels on ipod playback

i use a bose soundock to playback from my ipod but there are sometimes wildly differring volume levels on some tracks

is there anything within the ipod or itunes system where it can make everything at the same volume level ?

open Itunes

click on the songs you want to change the volume on (hold shift and left click for multiple songs)

right click

left click on "get info"

left click on "options"

in options it lets you select the volume you want for that song (don't go to high though as it can distort the sound when played)

click ok once done

then synch your ipod and all done

Turn on Sound Check.

Different songs are supposed to be at different levels though; it's what volume controls are for!

martyj .... went onto my itunes .. and the "soundcheck" was actually ticked ????... yet definitely great variance in levels on playback .

cat695 .. this is too complicated to do ... over 1000 songs .. can't just pick individual ones .
