Insuring a Nissan Navara

I have a 2003 Nissan 'D22' Navara pickup, I cannot use any of the price comparison websites and have to ring up companies in order to get a quote as I cannot get one online. I am currently being quoted around £450 a year. Has anyone else with a Navara had problems or is it just me?

    450 a year. for a large pickup.

thats not that bad. my CAR is 900 a year,

tho you could try the 4X4 club as they are suposed to get a reduced rate on insurance

Insurance companies are not keen on covering these as they are commercial vehicles but have 4/5 seats.

There are companies such as Norwich Union and Allianz who will cover them.

What is your job and what do you use it for as this could help find a decent price although £450 is actually fairly cheap to cover one of these
  • I appreciate that the price is not bad, it's just the problems trying to get different quotes for it....

Try a local broker preferably one that specialises in HMF, they are normally located near the bases.

Its often actually more expensive for some one like you who does not use it for work / business than say a builder would pay.

Don't have a navara but have a Mitsubishi L200 '53 plate which is comparable.

Have just renewed for £250 through Adrian Flux, renewal quote was £358, but they came down to meet lowest quote I got.

I managed to run our pickup through elephant.co.uk online and also phoned swinton for a quote.

Was your pickup a double cab?
