in Credit cards
Im new to creditcards and the like, waht with me being 18 and all. i have read about creditcards, mianly the cash back cards which i think would be more suitable to my situation, my primary use would be purchasing on the internet. but if i could make money on from using cashback its quite likly that i would.
it would be low spending, so according to the artical i read morgan stanley plattinum would be most suitable.
Here is my problem. im not to interested in geting into large amounts of debt and being charged for purchases or paying for having a card i may only rarly use. how would i go about setting up a direct debit from one of my bank/building society accounts to pay off any negative balance on a creditcard, are the two linked? i had a look at an applcation form for the plantinum card and it asked for my details, but did not mention paying off balance, would i set it up from a bank account or the creditcard account to take the money automaticly. as im unsure how i would go about doing this. im not going to be spending money i dont have already in an account. i would like to keep money in bank account as oposed to using the egg card thing where you preload the account so i can earn maximun interest. idealy i would like the debt on the card to be payed by my bank account as soon as i spend.

When you apply for the card some credit card companies will send you the form so you can set up a direct debit. If they don't do this....all I do with my credit card is send the payment electronically from my bank account (like you would with any other bill). The details of the account number / sort code etc of where you need to send the payment is on the back of your bill. Alternatively (if you don't want to pay it electronically) you can post of a cheque.0
