This is a topic typically studied at Key Stage 2 in the UK - seven to eleven year olds.
I hesitate to post a response criticising an OP, and I'm not sure what an 'intervention' is, but maths is sometimes a matter of life and death. If the OP is going to be treating patients in the future....0 -

its good you hesitate ..... no I will never have anything to do with patients nor in implementing any interventions apart from this one for a assignment I am doing, so dont worry .... also I think you will find there's more than me who would struggle with this topic and they all manage without doing any damage as they know when to ask for help - its when they dont or are made to feel bad about it that the problem occurs.

I don't know about you but trying to find the radian value using Tan-1(3/4) would be pretty hard on paper.....
But working out basic percentagers isn't Maths at the level you're talking about. We all have to do this sort of thing in our everyday lives and often without a calculator handy.0 -

I'm certainly not trying to make you feel bad about this but your original calculations don't look as if you even understand what 1% is, much less how to calculate it.0 -
op for the future to get a % of a total. Divide the total by 100 to get 1%. Then times that 1% by whatever % it is you want to find - in this case, 160

Agree with that, basic maths should be done in the head. It keeps me sane.0
