Car hoist

Am considering getting a car on motability with a hoist fitted to lift my scooter in/out. I have not been out on my own for two years because I could'nt manage without someone to get the scooter out for me and then putn it back.

I have MS and have lost muscle in my right side making it difficult to walk and even stand without leaning on something.

Need advice from anyone who uses a car hoist as to which one etc to choose.

I got a hoist put in to my mobility car last summer. i had no idea what type to pick so i rang motability and explained the type of wheelchair i have, and then they recommended someone from the choice of suppliers in the back of the booklet they send out (thats the one that has the car prices in). They helped me choose which supplier would be suitable, and then i contacted them and they came out to do a demonstration and to see if the hoist would suit my wheelchair and the car too. There was no pushy selling pressure and i was given choices of hoists.
The hoist i chose is easy to use and neither my carer or i have to worry about getting the wheelchair in and out of the car any more.We just press a button and it's pretty much done!
So from my experience i would say contact motability to get advice for your particular needs. hth.
