May I ask how long before the BR date? I plan to max out the OD perhaps MOnday and leave nothing in there till March 3, which is B day
Would this be acceptable too?.
Most of the DD's for loans,cc and electric usually come out on the 1st of the month with some later, so for this month some have come out already. Out of the overdraft. I am presuming some others will come out of the overdrawn OD if I take the money out on Monday
I havn't got online banking set up. How could I cancel the DD's loans etc without causing suspicion? I could set up the online banking but it may take a week or so. Therefore some creditors may get some money and others nowt.
Any advice would be welcome.

You could phone the bank and cancel your direct debits. The only ones they won't cancel is if there are any to themselves. If you max out your overdraft that might be acceptable if you say you used it for your BR fees.

I am applying for benefits as of Monday as the business is finished. The HB will be ok but as for benefit payments that may take weeks, which of course means no money. I could use some of the money for BR fees and the rest for food. I am not to bothered whether I get a BRO ( I sold the car asset) before Christmas and put the money in the bank to decrease the OD, joined a driving school franchise and that was no good either. So I have no option but BR. The new franchise which has a four week notice will not be paid and that can go in there aswell.
I just need to get out of this mess BRO or not. The loan, 1 card and the OD are with the same bankBetter to be poor than a slave to wealth

Well you should max out the overdraft as soon as possible. They will still allow their payment to go through but that will just take your overdraft over the od limit. I wouldn't worry about a BRO, if it happens it happens, it is certainly better than having all that debt around your neck.

Just a question whilst on the subject. I have opened a COOP account & transferred DDRs over & they are being collected etc.
Is it worth me opening a second Coop account (keep nil balance & not using it)in readiness & then I`ll have an account to use after BR ???

My thinking would be if they didn't allow you to keep your first coop account opened they would close the 2nd one. Anyway its worth a try or you could open a Barclays one.

Can`t do Barclays....which is a shame ...I don`t want them to know that I am insolvent just yet.
Think I will just consider timing carefully & make sure that no excess monies in account on the day & be prepared. Guess I could always go into Coop on the day & open another account.
Thanks Angex0 -

I was told by CAB to cancelled all my D/D and S/O so I went on to the Internet and cancelled the lot, even including a bank loan.Sealed Pot Number 018 🎄2009..£950.50 🎄2010..£256 🎄 2011..£526 🎄2012..£548.80 🎄2013...£758.88🎄2014...£510 🎄2015...£604.78 🎄2016...£704.50 🎄2017...£475 🎄2018...£1979.12 🎄2019...£408.88🎄2020...£1200.63...🎄2021…£588 🎄2022 £672… 🎄2023 £3,783.90 🎄2024…£3,882.57🎄2025…£4083.🎄20260 -
Just raided my NatWest account ready for my BR on the 9th Feb. I've left 0.61p for the OR. Well it seemed fair
