I know of a few on here. If you go onto the success thread and put Barclays into the search this thread box it will perhaps bring some up. Good luck and keep at it. I take it this complaint is now at the FOS for them to deal with?

So your still waiting to hear from them now then?

The first letter you should received is the one to confirm they have received your complaint, this may take sometimes up to 2-3 weeks on this one.
They normally say then they will be in touch to keep you updated.

Unfortunately, due to the high volumes of complaints, its higher again this year, as this actual complaint is probably one of the biggest they are dealing with right now, this may take some time.

They will write to you then to inform you when your case has been moved on to an adjudicator/caseworker, they do also let you know of these details in the first letter.

As soon as this is with the adjudicator they go through your complaint and request for information from the other party, they normally give them a date etc, but sometimes the other party can request for extra time to supply this, the FOS generally agree to a reasonable amount of time.

So depending if this is complex or not, it maybe a few weeks, for example 6-8 weeks from when the adjudicator receives this or even months if this is not agreed by the other party where then your case is moved on to another adjudicator who works closely with the ombudsman, if again not agreed by the other party, its then moved on to the ombudsman to investigate.

One of mine had taken 14 months (approx) from start to finish, but mine was a complexed case, hopefully yours will be dealt with a lot quicker, and with a bit of luck you will not have to be moved on and on.

But as you are now aware now, this can take some time for it to be moved on to the first adjudicator but once they have your complaint, its being dealt with, I think the longest part maybe the waiting period.

Good luck with this, if your struggling financially let them know, they maybe able to get this fast tracked for you, I know many are in the same situation right now, but do let them know if you are financially struggling if this is the case, it may help.;)

So am I right in thinking that yours took about 6 weeks julcan? I did mine about 4 weeks ago and was told the matter would be resolved/updated by 5th March. Rang them this morning and they said there is still no news and as the deadline hasnt passed I just have to wait. My loan was for £5200 and I had the PPI for about 10/11 months before I realised and then I had to redo the loan to get rid of it. Dont know how much to expect back from them.... If you dont mind me asking how much was your loan for and how long did you make the PPI repayments?

That doesnt seem like a lot at all does it????? I had a look at my loan agreement and out of my payments £30.59 a month was for the PPI so I would have thought that for a loan of £20k it would be more. Does it say that is a goodwill gesture or does it say its a refund of your premiums? I will of course keep you updated.

Got a response fairly quickly from FO .An adjudicator found in my favour and sent me a copy of a brilliant letter he had sent to Barclays. They had until 21/04/09 to respond.I was originally claiming on the grouns of a pre existing med con but the FO adjudicator also came up with the response that my job covered me for 6 months full pay if i was sick-hadnt even thought of that!
I was very optimistic about this until got a message today to say that Barclays had completely disagreed with the FO recommendations and it now has to go the FO itself.Anyone been in this situation and won?
Please say yes someone.Barclays seem to the worst of a bad bunch
    Thanks Guys

Well done to you, also post up on the success thread above, where I'm sure you will come across others with dealings with Barclays.
Congratulations anyway, great work !:T:beer:
