Hi,
When ever i try attaching a file to an email, either IE or firefox crashes. It also crashes when i try downloading a software. If i run the program from IE it is fine. if i click download it crashes.
- I have checked he hard disk for errors.. they are fine.
- I have restored the system -
- I have run all scans
- registry cleaning done
Details of the laptop iam using.
Windows XP
IE7
Toshiba Equium L10
Cant figure out what to do. It has been like this for more than year.. Because i had another laptop didnt actually be bothered. Now the other one is not working as well.
It is HP Dv9000, Windows vista home premium and everytime i start the computer, i get a blank blue screen and it does nothing. i will need to use the power button to turn it off.
Prior to this the system was not working. so reformated the entire disk using the recovery from partition drive. It was working fine for 2 days. last night it wouldnt switch off properly.....blank blue screen appeared. since then its been like this.
I have checked the hard disk. it passed the test. cant get the options of safe mode.
Please, any help will be appreciated. It is frustrating to see both laptops having problems.

Download HIJACK THIS (Top right)
http://www.filehippo.com/download_hijackthis/
SCAN and post the log so we can see whats running:idea:0 -
Have you installed any new software? I had this problem on a work machine with Firefox and it was a conflict with a new trial flash drive scanner we were running. As soon as I turned it off the browser was fine.0

You appear to have both Norton AND parts of mcafee running?
Use the uninstall tool for mcafee
http://service.mcafee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?id=TS100507
(Use the NORTON removal tool if you dont use norton anymore ~ just google it)
Download CCLEANER (Top right)
http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/
Run the top 2 scans (Backup the registry when it asks)
Download GLARY UTILITIES (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD NOW')
http://www.download.com/Glary-Utilities/3000-2094_4-10508531.html
Run the ONE CLICK scan
Any better?:idea:0 -
Running Windows Update probably wouldn't hurt.0
