new plaster falling off

Options
we have recently had a small part of our wall under the stairs replastered. Most of the new plaster has dried perfectly, but there is one small patch that
started cracking and is now falling off.

Any ideas why this is happening. Thank you

It has 'eggshelled' Where it dires out and cracks the thin skim coat. It is more likely that the old existing wall wasnt unibonded well enough in places.

Break all the loose patch off and unibond the area underneath, reskim the part when the unibond is dry.

Unibond is basically pva glue, dilute it and brush it on.

    Part of the Furniture
..or get the plasterer back (if you didn't DIY it)

it could be due to a number of reasons, poor mechanical key to the original surface, background movement, rapid drying out etc.

as said get the plasterer back to sort it out, i would have thought it was the least he could do.
