hi, well ive all of a sudden decided to throw myself into seriously looking into this, as its been on the back burner for a while....

anyone know what the applications deadlines are for a 2009 start?

also- it seems the deadlines for funding applications are the end of this month? .....and the funding for social work is different to other courses?

possibly the most important question: if a course describes itself as full time, what does this actually mean? how much time will you be required to spend actually at uni?

any info/ experience is much appreciated- thanks in advance!!!

I've just got accepted onto a postgraduate scheme so hopefully I might be ableto help a bit.

The courses are really competitive, particularly if you're a post graduate and I would suggest that if you haven't already applied you should do it really quickly. Don't be disappointed if you don't get in this year, most places will have already gone (this may be different on the undergraduate scheme but I think it's the same).

I don't think the deadline for funding is the end of this month to start this year...if it is I need to get my skates on!

A social work course is not like other university courses because to become a social worker you have to attend a certain amount of lectures and do practice placements. I think in many ways it's better to look at it like having a job. For my course I will be working full time when I'm on placement and have been told that I will not be able to take on paid employment during the week.
I'm not sure if you're going for postgraduate or undergraduate but that will influence how much time you spend at uni and on placement.

    Good luck!

    I've been Money Tipped!
I'm not sure, but as they're a statutory requirement they well might. How long ago did you take them and can you remember which exam board?

most unis do ask you to take certificates in and they copy them it would be awkward if you say you have passed then can't show the certs.

    Good luck go for it!!
