Correct Number to ring for Cheap Landline To Mobile Calls.

The correct number to call for cheap 2p a minute landline to uk mobile calls via https://www.discountdial.co.uk is 0844 462 23 23.

Not 0844 861 64 64 as mentioned in MSE main article on this site.. I have asked for it to be altered.

Important Note.

The number has changed again to 0844 428 90 9O. the price is now 4p a minute.

Better off on 18185!!!

0844 462 1919...it's 2 pm per minute

Yes that may be the case but the number they promote on their site is the 2p a minute number 0844 462 23 23.

I understand both of them work.

I just dialled the 0844 462 23 23 number stated at the top and had an automated message tell me that the access number had changed again - this time to 0844 428 8585 and the new charge was now 4p per minute. Have others experienced this?

if you go to Dialwise website you will find thet the number has changed & is 4p per min

You are quite right! Looks like the end of the 2p/min promotion. The site now shows 4p/min but access code of 0844 428 9090 (message is,as you say, 0844 428 8585).

Oh well - back to 18185 setting on my dialler for mobiles (5p/min I know!) - I have only just altered it to discountdial....but I can't really be bothered with all this faffing about squeezing last p of savings - at least 18185 has been relatively stable in its pricing......

Yes - more trouble than it's worth. They can't even get their recorded messages right. I can see why Martin did not get too excited about Discount Dial on his website ... they are just a tease. Shame, 'cos it worked well.

The price has gone up because their main competitor has put theres up from 3p to 5p.

Stick with 18185 !!!! Who in fact are owned by same company as DD.

have you all forgotten, when you talk of the discount dial 'original number', that they started with 0844 721 25 25 at 1p/min. That now means they have had 5 differnt numbers in little more than the same number of weeks, I too am beginning to think it's all a con and not worth the hassle

When it was first mentioned we indicated it was a loss leader and could not be suistained for a long period.The charge has only changed 3 times.1p then 2p and then 4p to keep it in line, or below their main competitor.

How can anyone sensibly suggest that this was a con? Have they changed the price without telling anyone? No, of course they haven't. Can we not just be grateful that we have been able to call mobiles from our landlines for 1p and 2p a minute? Even if it was just for a short time. Maybe you would prefer that nobody offers reduced prices at all and that everyone charged the same rate. Stop whinging and take the savings while you can and accept that they won't always last forever.
