There is a Symantec Norton Uninstallation tool that can be run if you have problems.

It depends, you cannot just say what works for you will work just as well for other people- you have no idea what their needs are and their needs may well be very different to yours.
For me, I cannot stand pop ups, so things like avast just wind me up big time!
I also when installing, got blown away by the many options on AVG as there is no help on the free version, its really confusing unless you really know exactly how the whole thing works and what exactly your doing when you tick/unselect certain boxes. I ended up making any flash on my computer unusable and it had to be put back to factory resettings as it was so screwed after using AVG. Its not that AVG is bad, its that if you don't understand exactly what your doing for the many many steps, your really at risk of making things a mess.
I think if the OP has asked for Norton, then its his/her choice, and though I can see your point that there are free versions out there, its really his right to choose what he/she wants.
Your right ,i don't know what the OP's objectives are but they are asking about a price for an anti-virus/internet security program of which i pointed out that there is indeed an option to get a free alternative .
Forgive me if i'm wrong but last time i checked ,this is a money saving forum ?
If they don't want to download this program for free ,then there is also a package they can pay for ,if they feel the need to spend some money .
So i'm assuming you have never used AVG ? pop-ups may happen on Avast (i've never used that) but they don't on AVG .
As for installing ,i'm by no means a computer genius ,however i'm confident in saying that the installation process is very user friendly & you would really have to be going some to mess it up .
So back to the OP's original question ,maybe i should have posted "have you considered any other options ? as there are just as good free alternatives "Gotta love a good bargain !0 -
Just to add my support for AVG - I find it very easy to use and install and use it on all my PCs (With the Free edition the price is right too
)
