Advice on wireless boiler time-switch

Hi all. Back for some more advice.
I have a Main combi boiler with a built in 24 hour timer. All the radiators have TRV's except the bathroom one, and there's a thermostat on the landing.
The problem is that the boiler is in the attic so it's not practical to use the timer, and the only way to turn the heating off is to turn down the thermostat.
I'm looking to get a separate 7 day timer for the boiler and have been told that a wireless one is best.
Any recommendations on a good timer?
And would I need a Corgi plumber or an electrician to fit it?
Or is it safe and simple to do myself?

I'm not a plumber, but Iv'e had plenty of timers
my boiler is an alpha, switched to a mechanical one when I thought my digi was the problem - it wasnt, the plumber ****************************<< deleted.
PTS plum merch (google) & alpha gave me back my remote one. No electrician on mine, was pull out a round thing (mech clock) and put back in the remote round thing (receiver)- just like changing a battery.
My boiler is in the attic, and the remote is on the hall downstairs shelf - have keep them away from a rad so the sensor doesnt pick up heat.
I assume that "any" remote Wont work, but dont quote me on that, ring the maker of your boiler0 -
Your best bet is a wireless programable thermostat. Very easy to wire yourself.http://www.screwfix.com/prods/93829/Plumbing/Central-Heating-Controls/Horstmann-HRFS1-Room-Thermostat0

I've had a look at a few timers/thermostats and may go for this one http://www.screwfix.com/prods/12157/Plumbing/Central-Heating-Controls/Horstmann-Centaurstat-7-Room-Thermostat and replace my existing dial thermostat as it seems like the simplest option.
Any comments/suggestions? The reviews on the Screwfix website are all positive.0 -
I installed myself a Towerstat (aka Sunvic) RF last year, easy to do and it works brilliantly.0
