Electricty usage constantly higher than gas usage over 12 months

Hello everybody!

I requested my records for gas/electricty usage over 12 months as my last bill was £330 with E.ON (sponsoring the FA cup on the bloody ITV while people are struggling to pay their bills), it seems my average daily electricity use was much higher than gas.

I live in a 4 bedroom semi-detached, we have double glazing and loft insulation, there are 4 adults etc. I take both gas and electricity from E.ON.

Can anyone have a look at these figures and give me some tips to avoid getting ridiculous bills like this again?

Much obliged

I am afraid I cannot post my figures on this website, can anyone help?

My electric is over twice the gas.

I only know people with higher electricity bills compared to gas. Don't know anyone whose gas bill is more than their electricity.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

We pay about £600 for electricity and £1000 for gas over a year. We have made great efforts to reduce electricity usage but with gas, we like the house warm and heat it from Oct to Apr with someone home most of the day. Don't have heating on all day, but use more than most plus hot water for six.

I like warmth too, people comment it is like a sauna.

Our electricity is £31 per month and gas £15 per month, this is for a 3 bed terraced house. Currently around £50 in credit with the gas too, only just had the latest bill in.

Most days there is usually someone in. The heating when on (off if summer is warm) is on a thermostat and other than bedtime is set around 21c, for bedtime we just lower it down to 15/16c.

I do wear a jumper too and two pairs of socks. We also have two 13.5 tog quilts on the bed, though that's just for me.

I feel the cold badly, which is why I'm happy to go to places like Tunisia when it is in the 40s.
