Plastering a hallway and maximum cost estimate!!!

I need to get my hallway plastered. It is about 4 meters in length downstairs and the same up. It really is a standard size, if that makes sense. The walls and the ceiling down and upstairs. How many days should this take roughly and how much?

Thanks

  • Its not easy to give a price without seeing the job but if I understand you correctly, you have two ceilings and two walls.

If the work is just skimming I would say you are looking at around £ 230 materials and labour, and around one and a half - two days

However, this price also depends on where you live as prices vary in different areas, the size of ceilings and the amount of preperation needed before hand.

    Hope this helps,

as a rough guide, and depending where you live, 600/1000 quid should be enough.

sounds slightly expensive to me? How long do you think it would take?

I would say the averaged sized hall stairs and landing i do are normally around the £500-£600 with all materials included and i always say 2 days no matter what. This is because H/S &L's are much more awkward to do. But as owls says depending on the area and the size, it could be more (or less sometimes).

the OP wanted a max costing budget price.
i do know around here, that sort of job would be in the region of 600 quid.

To be honest Ormus I misread the OP question.:o I thought there was only two walls and two ceilings.

If the OP wants all the hallway AND landing skimmed then I would tend to agree with the prices that you and the other blokes have quoted.

    600 notes is realistic.

its approx £250 a day, maybe a couple of days but if its straight forward one day, albeit a long one!
  • I have been quoted £750 for 5 days work and this includes painting the walls. I provide the paint and plaster. Is this a fair price as it is for plastering and painting the wall?

If they are going to plaster and paint it all in 5 days i would be very carefull. Plaster needs time to dry out. They paint over wet plaster and your going to have all sorts of problems.
  • I thought that you had to wait a while before painting, so thanks for that jason. Would 5 days sound about right if it was to plaster and paint even if they had to come back for the painting part?
