  • I missed this last time, so got myself a Nikon D40, which I love. Didn't cost that much more either.

Just popped down to my local Sainsburys and got them to look up the stock around and the closest one to me is 3 hours away :(. There are loads in Kent though it you happen to live down south.
  • Do you happen to know what areas in Kent? I am in Folkestone and would love one.

Edit - I have just called around the local stores and they cannot find any stock in Kent at all? Suggested that the Maidstone store stocks them but is out of stock. Not much luck i'm afaid.

aliben - I'm in Cheshire and the closest for us was Sunderland!

Purplegirluk - pop down to your local store and ask the staff at the customer services desk to look it up on their system (make sure its customer services - the girl in the Home/Electronics section couldn't do it) . This is what we did this morning and they found a number of them down in various stores around Kent - sorry not sure which stores as its too far away from me so I never really paid attention. Good luck though - I was really looking forward to buying one for hubby as a birthday present.
  • I have just spoken to customer services and there are only a few left, most are in London but there are only one or two showing in stock so its possible they might not be there at all.

Do you know which London stores? Thanks.
  • apparently 2 in Whitechapel but went there and both were faulty ones not taken off the system.

Sunderland and Murrayfield only two other places apparently.

isnt there only 3 focal points on this DSLR? you may as well save your money and get one with at least 5-7 AF points, otherwise you will be taking photographs with about as much focal skill as a compact digital camera.

Good price though, but wouldnt like to pay full whack for it.

I wouldn't let that put you off. I have an E500 so same issue but find it far easier to just fix focus then re-compose than I ever did shifting the ruddy focal point on my last camera.
