IVA Help
I have been in an IVA for 2.5 years. The past 7 months I was on maternity leave so was only paying a token payment to which they had agreed and I would then extend my IVA for a further 7 minths to make up the shortfall.
Once having my baby and goign back to work full time my expenditur has changed meaning that I could no longer meet my monthly contribution. I contacted my IVA who advised they would have to do a variation meeting at the cost of £1000.00 + VAT. to which as you can imagine I am not happy with as that is just getting me further into debt. I am decidign to cancel my IVA and manage my debts myself as one of my creditors who I owed £4000.00 has written that off as they are no longer trading so I am now £4000.00 less in debt.
I just wanted to know if anyone could advise if I could maybe claw back some of the money that I had paid the IVA as it has all been charges and not a penny has been paid to me creditors.
Thanks

Who was/ is your IVA with? Normally after around three months your IVA has failed in these circumstances (I may be wrong). If you have been in the IVA for over 2 years then surely some of the money has gone to creditors rather than just fees. How much are you paying per month?:jDebt Free after 5 years.:j Now Time to start saving for my move to Canada
