No Parking ticket issued.

Hi,

on Christmas eve at 8.30am a parking attendant was issueing a parking ticket to my car, I know to move the car at 8.30am as the bays outside my friends flat are residents or pay and display. I spoke to the attendant who told me it was past 8.30 am - (he did not put a ticket on my car) because I got in my car and parked 20m away on the corner of the next street and paid for a pay & displey ticket for 20 minutes.
I have just received in the post a 'fine' to pay £120. I was issued no parking ticket, is this legal?

Could someone please inform me. It was Lambeth Council.

Kind regards

Chris Raphael.

Hi Chris & welcome to MSE - I've moved your post into a new thread.

Could you scan and upload the letter received (please remove personal details - click here for help) so Neil can take a look? :)
  • Whether it's legal would depend on whether you received a Notice to Owner in the post or a postal PCN.

If it is a Notice to Owner then the authority have not followed the correct procedure laid down by legislation.

If it is a Notice to Owner (NtO) then there is a good chnace you can win this but we need more details. Upload both sides of all paperwork and if you are able take photos of the signs and bay markings as they may be non compliant with the law.
