Capital One "out of plastic"?

Options
Hi!

A friend owes me some money so she applied about two weeks ago for a Capital One credit card with the idea of paying me back from that. I asked her today how the card application is coming along and she told me that Capital One have run out of plastic to make their cards so there'll be a 2-3 week delay on her getting one.

Anyone else heard this story or does this just sound like BS to avoid paying me...?

Thanks

If they stopped sending out dummy cards with their application forms, maybe they wouldn't have this problem! :-/

    That's a new one ;D

They've actually had some bad press recently, as they apparently are too strict in their screening process, even though they advertise aggressively

No, it's an old one. When they used it before, it was suggested it was untrue.

Cripes ! My card expires at the end of Jan 05 !

Maybe I should send the old one back so they can melt it down :)

That's what they said to me! It took weeks before I received my card, even though the account was opened and set up with £6500 credit limit.

    Thanks for the replies!

If it wasn't for the other people in this thread hearing about this I totally wouldn't have believed it. Seems a very bizarre problem for a credit card company to have! Must be all the readers of this site applying for the 18 month 0% APR thing :)

I reckon it is BS, but on C1's behalf. I guess they prefer to tell people they have ran out of plastic, as opposed to - they cannot run their business efficiently
  • Well, both I and Mr Jetlagged received our new Capital One cards today. We both applied for separate cards on 30 Nov.

I think thats great service.....especially as they have contributed a total of £34000 to our stooz pot! ;D
