There are a few companies that have recognised that there are no a large number of people who run their businesses from home. Including Allianz and Fortis (I normally recommend the Allianz policy as it is a very comprehensive policy). The premiums are generally not a great deal more than a normal home insurance
I would recommend you a) Go and see a broker who should be able to advise you what cover you need and get you a quotation b) If their is a trade organisation they often have a competitive scheme for their members or they will recommend one.
The policy is normally a combination of home insurance and business insurance so in theory their are no gaps in the policy if you need to make a claim.
It is very important that if you do not take a combined Home and Home Worker Policy out that you inform your current home insurers that you are working from home as working from home invalidates most home insurance policies.
The home worker policy you take out will probably include cover for Product Liability (If the item you sell causes an injury or damage), Public Liability (Covers the public if they have an accident at your premises or can also include if you are working away eg at a craft market) and stock cover. There are a number of other covers you may wish to take out which a competant local broker (Not a chain like Swintons etc) should be able to advise you on.
I would also recommend you visit Business Link which is a free service for business which is run by the government to help businesses. They have lots of different advice for businesses including advice on insurance the link is (They also have offices in most towns you can pop into)

Thats not a bad idea but I've just checked their site out and the scheme is underwritten by Aviva which if you have been watching their expensive adverts at the moment is Norwich Union!!! You have just been venting your anger at them in another thread...0
