dacouch - thanks for your response, I already tried that number, spoke to someone for ages and got no reolution... I almost hung up in frustration when the person taking my call could not comprehend that trying to contact the person in Aus and getting them to phone the UK before 7am was maybe asking a little too much..
Sheesh.. what would the PO have done if I'd mistakenly put "Donald Duck" as the policy holder name!! :rotfl:
koolmuumy - thanks for the advice, I think that is the way to go (unfortunatly... as writting to and getting in to this ding-dong with the PO to get this resolved is not one more burden I was looking for).
The paperwork hasn't arrived in the post yet (policy is meant to start March 5th), all I have is the policy number, didn't bother to print the policy details (online whent I bought it) as I thought the number would be enough to cancel it.
Do you think writting to the PO with just the policy number for reference is enough or should I wait for the printed stuff to come through the post?0 -
You have 14 days so it might be worth waiting til you get that and then sending it back stating you have read it and its not suitable for your requirements (As per my previous post containing their cancellation rights) and ask for a full refund.
There should be no reason for them to ask to speak to the other person named on the policy if you are the policy holder and paid for it. The person you were speaking to at the call centre either did not know what she was talking about and / or was just trying to put up obstacles to try and stop you cancelling. I would not be surprised if you rang and spoke politely to another member of staff that you would have a completely different response and they would cancel.0 -
I agree with dacouch, another member of staff may deal with situation differently.
Before you write try calling back and ask them about their TCF (treating customers fairly) policy. Their conduct is not very TCF.
If you have to write, ( I know it's a pain)! Do wait for the docs and return just the schedule. State you have not traveled and there are no claims known or pending against the policy and you wish to claim a full premium refuind (wording is important). They have to refund, you have a 14 cooling off period Financial services Authority regs.0
