...Edited to add: In the last hour, my (8 year old) freezer has used just 0.03KWH! So about 0.8KWH a day, or 300KWH a year. At an average of 8p per KWH that's only £25 a year .... :beer:
Leccy? 8p per kWh? Yes please! Where from?"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -

£25 a year on an old freezer would be better than a modern A+ rated one and could well be more like £10 a month in summer .

My flat is pretty cool all year round as the only outside wall/ windows are north facing and we only use the heating for two hours a day max. I was using £26 of electricity per month before the winter hit so I don't see how £10 could be the freezer?I deliberately measured while I had the heating on full blast and could hear the freezer switching on and off, and did two hours in the end. Will take a longer reading at some point and post back tho.
My Scottish Power tariff is less than 10p per KWH day rate and less than 5p per KWH night rate, which averages out to about 8p a KWH I think? I have not accounted for the 14p standing charge as I pay this regardless of which appliances are switched on. Or have I made a complete b*lls up of my sums?? I did get a bit confuzzled.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
Let me guess, another Yorkshire region customer (if I'm right, don't forget the VAT
)
SP do seem to have some odd prices lurking within their tariffs. I must admit, the very low price SP charge for electricity for Yorkshire region has been highlighted to me before, and thats when I noticed some of their E7 tariffs are cheaper than their comparable non-E7 tariffs (e.g. Eastern region, pay qtrly) no matter how much or little overnight electricity is used."Now to trolling as a concept. ....
