Do payments from an Abbey current account go through on the same day?
(But you still need to allow two working days even to credit your Abbey current account - so there is no actual time-saving in using it to credit monthly savers).....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0 -
Probably, since the payments from an Abbey current account is described slightly different from a 'standing order' (i.e. as a 'regular transfer') so I think the category difference says something about the mechanism of payment.
(But you still need to allow two working days even to credit your Abbey current account - so there is no actual time-saving in using it to credit monthly savers)
There is a time saving for me as I was unable to feed two "identical" accounts from my Principality eSaver as it ignores the reference for this purpose. So I sent £250 to my Abbey current account.
I used to have a regular payment set up on my Abbey current account to feed 2 Abbey regular savers. Payments arrived same day. I just cannot remember how I set it up.
To-day, I looked at Transfers but that does not seem to allow me to enter a reference.Dagobert0 -
I had the same problem. In the end I had to ring them up to set it up so that they could put in the reference for me as you can't do it yourself online.
I have 2 Abbey Issue 7 & I, as well as the B&B and they all appear under Regular Transfers. I don't know how long they take to show up as the
two Abbey accounts are passbooks and you can't see them online.0 -
I opened one of these today in the branch (with an appointment) - the member of staff said I had opened it just in time as the rate would be reducing to 5% from Monday. Not sure how true this is but presume the staff would have the correct information0
