Daft question re: Tenerife

We are going to Tenerife in February and I just need to know if there is a large supermarket vicinity of Golf del Sur. I was thinking of Europa/Carrefour type establishments. We are self catering and our base has a supermarket on site , however from experience we realise that the shopping money does not not stretch have as much as if we went to a biggy. Yep I know it is daft , but I am also thinking about nappies and sundries , as I hate carting all that stuff with me . Any help would be appreciated . Thanks x

Could you e-mail or telephone the hotel. I know of a few big supermarkets in Tenerife but not sure where Golf del Sur is. Also have you looked at the holiday forums

it might be worth asking on thereI haven't got one!0 -
We stayed in Golf del Sur area many years ago and it was a bit out of the way. There was a courtesy bus from the resort, ?country and Golf club or some name like that!, to the town. At the time I remember thinking a hire car would have been good, but we were guests of my inlaws and it was their time share and with 2 kids there were too many of us to fit in one car!
Can't help on the supermarket front, but in my exeperience most holiday towns now have biggish supermarkets with everything needed in them.
Anyway, have a great time and think about car hire, I believe it is quite reasonable in the Canary islands.0 -
Where you turn off the motorway to go to Golf Del Sur, there is a large Spanish supermarket, should have what you want, then off to the right about half a mile is another good size one, but down in Gold Del sur itself there are several smallish 8-til-late type supermarkets, the best being in the Commercial Centre
At least thats the way it was when I was last there, 2 years ago0 -

I think it is the very green area which you fly over just before landing at the Tenerife South airport. It is south of the airport on the coast.

Just off the motorway on the Golf del Sur side is a very large modern 'Mercadona' supermarket, with big underground car park. (BTW - watch out for credit card payments being converted to sterling at poor rate!)
On the other side of the motorway is an older one; used to be called 'HyperSur', now I think, 'HyperDino'. (or the other way round!)
Both are quite a long way from the accommodation of the Golf del Sur but we have walked it a few times. Much nearer, in the commercial centre, is (or was) a Netto, which was very useful.0
