Bank Transfer

Hi forum,
Just a question about how easy it is to do a bank transfer. Step-daughter owes me money. She is with Barclays i'm with RBS.As far as i'm aware she doesn't bank online. Firstly she told me Barclays said she needed a special RBS slip which they didn't have. Now she said she does not have an RBS near her so she'll just post it. I was under the impression that with my sort code and account no it would be no prob. Am I wrong? Or is she taking the Pi**?
Cheers for any replies.

Probably!
If she does not bank by internet or telephone, she just can go to any branch of her bank and say she wants to send money
to Sort Code xxx and Account Nr yyy. No paperwork of the receiving bank required.
But she'll needs sufficient available funds in her account and that might be the problem.:D0 -
Your step daughter is correct about needing the paying in slip. I suspect she tried to go to the counter to make a payment, which would require one of the printed credits you get in your paying in book.
Either give her the paying in slip or tell her to see the personal banker as mentioned above. Then they can do it electronically.0 -
just check on rbs site with her postcode to check nearest branchFor everthing else there's mastercard.
For clampers there's Barclaycard.0 -
Are Barclays really not able to do a BACS/FP transfer in branch, like most other banks??
With most banks you can just give them the sort code and account number and they'll put through the transfer.
The way she is describing seems a very muddled way around it!0 -
Yes they can do it, so long as that is what you ask them to do. Going up to a cashier and telling them you want to deposit money in an account held at RBS is different than asking somebody to arrange a payment/transfer to that account and will probably get the reply about them needing a printed slip.0
