    We still have about 5 inches of snow and now tonight its frosty...roads are covered in snow/slush/ice combo so me thinks I might not bother with the 7 mile drive to take DD swimming. The weather here has been truely awful today and whole area at a standstill

    Me too strangely. Our school only closed when the heating broke.

    And this was in the days when kids walked to school...

    i remember the shock and horror at a loaf of bread going up to £1 because of the snow ...there was an outrage about it ...sigh the good old days eh

    or to visit random friends without their parents undergoing Disclosure!

    DS was moaning the other day about the fact they brought a tractor into school in the afternoon to clear the snow off the grass! I can't think of a reason they wouldn't just let the kids play in it either so I told him the teachers had put it in the freezer so they could have snowball fights on the inset day.;)
