I'm expecting tantrums on Monday. OH has to start jury service and he detests being told he has to be somewhere at a set time to do a set thing if he doesn't want to do it, particularly anything 'authority' related.

He has threatened every silly excuse in the book when he gets in there, but as I said if they make Frank Gallagher (Shameless!) go onto a jury, they'll make him!!!!

Has he been picked yet BB or is this just when they choose they jury?

    Evening all,

Hugs to all those that need them...

Have made a coffee & pecan cake today, pic on FB if anyone wants a nosey. Tis very yummy.... sorry the pic doesn't have scratch n sniff tho! :rotfl:

We had snow earlier today and it started to settle but it wasn't enough to turn the place all white. Just been raining, very cold rain!!

I dont have you on FB Tigz, I will pass on the coffee cake though, if it had been toffee and pecan I would have been drooling over it:D

Starting to feel a bit brighter again but I have wine and candles so that is helping.
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.

it's when he gets there. If it's the same as when I did it quite a few years back, the 12 'new' people plus 6 from today turn up Monday morning. When the next case starts (there may be a wait in a locked room - I had to stay there 2 days until a case ended!), all go in to the court room. 12 are randomly chosen and the other 6 go home. The 12 then do the case and the remaining 6 come back the next day with the 'new ' 12.

If he gets a short case he may have to do 2 in the 2 weeks he's called for, if he gets a long one - he is there for as long as it takes. The one I had to wait to end was a big fraud one which had been going on for 6 weeks!

Ah right I see. I've only been called up once for jury duty and there was about 30 of us and so many were picked at random and the rest went home (I wasn't picked). It's maybe different in Scotland though?? I'm not really sure!

What will he do if he's there for weeks?! Eek!
