Though to many of us this is our normal practise, how many people do you see just grab food from the shelf and slap it into their trolley? A lot!

The OP had his heart in the right place.

(And supermarkets charge more for shelf positioning,so if you want eye level for your products you pay a premium)

I'm thinking the same.

Next time, the OP may have some info that will be of use, but won't post it because of some posters inability to be anything but critical, so we'll all lose out.

At least the chap was sharing, unlike many of the moaners, who take take take, moan moan moan.

I don't actually think i've ever seen anyone take from the back in a supermarket, aside myself and those i'm with, and I suspect that a few of those frequent this site and are learning the tricks of the trade. Most people just grab and move on.

May be a bit sarcastic but a good tip if you're not aware of how shops operate. In fact if more people took from the back there would be more reductions. Something I take advantage of now and again such as freezing half a dozen litres of milk that were reduced.

If there's one thing I take from the back it is cream or sour cream as they have been the ones I've been stung on in the past.

That used to work years ago - but these days, as someone has already mentioned, you are almost as likely to find the newer stuff at the front. The lazyness of staff sometimes has its benefits.
