Glow-worm Energysaver - how do I decrease the temp of the hot water!

Hello,
We moved about a year ago and have an Energysaver Combi 2 80. To be honest we've never really got our heads round it and it's never really worked as it should.
At the momentthe water temp is way too high (to the point that I scalded myself this morning
) but we don't know how to turn it down. From the download from the glow worm web site we reckon the reading on the front should be 6 but it's currently 8. All it has is a mode button and a reset button.
Can anyone help me decrease the water temp?
Cheers,
Ww

Hi,
Assume you don't have a manual!
You can download one from the Glow worm site as a PDF file.;)
This link should take you straight to it, if it doesn't work just copy the link and paste it into your browser address bar
www.glow-worm.co.uk/products/pdf/discontinued/boilers/EnergySaverCombi80-100_UIS.pdf
You can change the settings by repeated pressing of the mode button according to the manual. Don't know in practice as I have never used one of these boilers0 -
Thanks Possetjohn,
We do have a copy of the pdf and the mode button when held down will go through the different operating settings (as shown on p. 23 of the pdf) but I don't know how to select the setting I want.
To be honest I'm not entirely sure what the setting I want is
.
We've had problems with the boiler from the word go and I'm reall dreading our gas bill because unless I turn the power off it stays on constantly (regardless of what the timer / thermostat says).
After this morning my main worry is the hot water though.
Anyone else have / had one of these?0 -
Anyone out there has / had one of these boilers and can help?0

A friend of mine and her Mum bought washing machine and tumble dryer each (4 items) from John Lewis at the same time and got a good discount. Might be worth giving them a call, or pop in and ask.£2 Coins Savings Club 2012 is £4

Hello WizWoo
To alter the settings scroll through the options as displayed on page 23 of the PDF & once you've got the lower setting hold the mode button for two seconds to select it.
If this doesn't work and your hot water is still dangerously hot it could be that your hot water thermistor is faulty and needs replacing.
Also to obtain control over your boiler it maybe worthwhile installing an external timeswitch & Roomstat, If you need anymore help just ask
