Sorry, catz, Scotland produces whisky, so it's either Japan or America.

The real answer is, of course, Ireland!

I figured that they meant Scotland but the extra e was an accident  .... or maybe not
With few exceptions, the spelling is always Scotch and Canadian whisky (plural: whiskies), and Irish and American whiskey (whiskeys)

The Irish and American distilleries adopted the spelling "whiskey", with the extra "e", to distinguish their higher quality product. Today, the spelling whisky (plural whiskies) is generally used for whiskies distilled in Scotland, Wales, Canada, and Japan, while whiskey is used for the spirits distilled in Ireland and America.

I think then that the answer must be US ?????
    Good Luck All
