My Mum kinda had one of these parties when she got divorced. Due to simular circumstances to mentioned it was a very good reason to celebrate.
All the family clubbed together and bought her a dishwasher - it was decided she had done enough housework and washing up over the years and was to do no more hence the dishwasher - we couldnt afford to pay a hunk to do it for her :rotfl:

You could always burn his effigy like a guy and have fireworks (because they're pretty) and some blowing bubbles because they always make people happy.
You could also have a voodoo doll cake (and cocktail sticks). Also if you like gingerbread men you can get some decorations and play make a dream man.
