Ideas for my Sister in Laws DIVORCE PARTY :)

Hi there
Well........ Long story but my sister in law is due to get divorced from my brother.

My brother was not a very nice man towards his wife and after everything me and the rest of his family have actually decided that we would rather not be involved with him anymore and that his wife is such a lovely person that she has been taken in as one of us!

Anyway the divorce is due to come through any time now and we (the girls, family and friends) are wanting to have a fun divorce party for SIL. To celebrate her freedom from a controlling unfaithful monster.

So any idea for things we could do, invites we could print, games we could play etc etc etc

Let your wildest ideas flow!!!!!!!!!!!

(my idea was to do a giant picture of said brother, and play pin the w**ly on the a***h**e)

So feel free to go with that kind of bitter theme :)

Forgot to say obviously cheapest ideas as poss please!

Divorce is not something to be made fun of.
  • I am the lucky sister in law, lucky to have such a lovely little sister in law who has been a huge support to me over the whole awful time that I was conned and duped by that vile 'man'. Thank you Clare, I love you.

    Now....where are the ideas!
  • Grace, I can assure you that I have had no fun whatsoever and am extremely sad that I am getting divorced. But it was not of my doing and you would need to know the whole story to understand why we are celebrating me getting rid of him. Being abused, locked in a house, subjected to violent outbursts and being lied to and cheated on by somebody who's idea of 'fun' is webcam sex is a good enough reason for me to have a party.

Large banner with "congratultions on losing xxx stones of ugly flab!"

I think Amazon do a knifeboard that looks like a figure of a man with knives stuck through it. (voodoo knives)

Guess the number of braincells game (1 to 10 should do it!)

Make a papier mache pinata (shaped like him instead of a donkey) and beat to bits to get sweets out of it.

How about doing little goody bags like a

    Divorce Kit

Shampoo - to wash that man right out of your hair.

Rubber Ball - to help you "bounce" back.

Tootsie Roll - to help you roll with the punches.

Marbles - to replace the ones you will loose

Lifesaver candy - for when you feel you are drowning in litigation

Skittles Candy - to remind you that there is a rainbow at the end of every storm.

Paperclip - to help you hold it all together

Piece of String - when you get to the end of your rope, tie a know to this and hang on

Eraser - to remind you that you can start all over with a clean slate.

Pack of Gum - to remind you that your friends will "stick" by you.

Candle - to light up the dark times

Cotton Ball - to cushion the rough roads ahead

A lemon drop - to remind you that "when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade."

A penny - to give you the extra cents (sense) to know which battles are worth fighting, and which are better ignored.

Hugs & Kisses - from me, whenever you need them.
