They are fairly similar. Doesn't Dell allow you to select both machines and do a Compare on them?

Yeah cheers John, i've already done that mate, but the mian issue is which chip is best? 9300 is faster(2.0 Ghz compared to 1.83 Ghz)but know nothing about the Intel ® Core™ Duo Processor T2400?

Any advice would be gratefully recieved as i'm ringing Dell to order one of these me thinks.............

I think the simple answer is that there is very little information available so far about the Core processor (have a read of the Mar 2006 edition (i.e. the current one) of PC Pro magazine).

I purchased a Dell Inspiron 9300 to replace an ageing PC, and am absolutely delighted with it. I purchased it when they were offering extra free Ram & Delivery, and haggled with them to get some extras on top of what they were offering, all for the same price. I don't use it for games but I wanted 'power' so that I can process data and it's good at doing it. I think!! the 9400 is aimed at 'Gamers', but I may be wrong.

I have opted for the Inspiration 9440, got it in the end for £1055(code is N02947) without the printer but with a free carry case and 9 cell battery. Worth ringing dell actually instead of ordering online as they can give u different options and discounts(after talking to their manager!LOL)
