Hi there,
I desperately need to get a spare key made for my Pug 306 D Turbo R reg diesel. I have only got the one key that came with the car and am terrified of loosing it.
I have a new blank uncut Pug key off eBay but need to get it cut and also I think it needs to be programmed to work with the immobiliser??
I live in Exeter, Devon can somebody advise me where to get this done CHEAPLY? I just rung an autolocksmith and they said £170!!! Its only that much for a new one full stop from main dealer!
Help? As far as Im aware you cant do anymore other than programme the IR locking yourself?
Thanks,
Dean.

yeah you cant do the immobiliser for obvious reasons
what you can do (and you will have to inform your insurance company) is take the original key apart and take the transponder part out and stick it near the ignition barrel.
This will fool it into always thinking that the key is near by, so you just then need to use any copied manual key
the above of course will make your car easier to nick!0 -
My local shoe repair and key cutting shop has a machine that will 'read' the transponder in many car keys, and copy the code onto a blank transponder. Cost is usually about £5 to supply & cut the key blank, and £20 for the transponder chip and coding.
I have had the transponder chips in the keys for a V reg Peugeot 106 and an R reg Clio copied OK, but my 03 reg Astra key cannot be copied, you have to take the car to the main dealer.
Just take your original working key along to the shop, it only takes 10 seconds to see if the machine can read and copy the chip.People are more important than things0
