Online shop mis-pricing, do they have to honour the price?

The bottom line is that, if a shop doesn't want to honour a misprice, it won't. People here will talk about contracts being formed once payment is taken and bleating to Trading Standards and/or Watchdog but, in the case of a geuine mistake, a court would take the common sense approach, especially if it felt its time was being wasted by somebody insisting they had a right to a TV for 49p!Can I help?0

Bad News. The shaop rang me to today to say there were very sorry but they appear to have a gremlin in their computer and it had miscalculated the price, did i still want the items at the proper cost of £670. She said she was very very sorry and nothing had been taken form my credit card.
I told her, I just thought they wer clearing out old stock. So I just bowed out gracefully with out a fight.
Well worth a try, and at least some poor soul in the pricing dept has probably kept thier job.0 -
