Bathroom Budget - £2000? - Updated with Sink question

Ok so I set myself a pretty random budget of £2000 to save this year for our new bathroom. I dunno why I picked that number.
Anyway, I have sat down this afternoon and done some figures for materials.
I have come up with:
Bath 250 (it's a shower bath, you know, with the bulge at the end)
Bath Panels 25
Shower rail 149 (round one and this is cheapest I found...
)
Shower curtain 20
Sink 100
Bath taps 60
Sink taps 30
Towel rail 100
Floor tiles 60
Wall tiles 50
Paint 25
Cabinet 1 - above sink 146
Cabinet 2 - above toilet 146
Folding door 70
Total: 1230. I have allowed a little bit extra on current list prices to take into account inflation, etc.
Just for those materials....
Now we don't need any major plumbing, just some minor pipes rerouted as at the moment we only have a shower cubicle, not a bath. We also need to have a stud wall removed but it's not even full height so I imagine this will be very easy.
Also we are leaving the toilet alone as it is only about 5 yrs old and still very good condition.
My question... is £770 enough for labour!?
We need someone to: strip wallpaper around 13 sq m
paint around 9sq m x 2 coats
Tile 3 sq m of floor (I want to use slate tiles if that makes any difference)
Tile 4 sq m of wall (Plain white ceramic tiles)
Remove stud wall
Remove old and install new sink
Install bath + all associated plumbing
Oh and a shaver socket that needs to be removed because it will be in the way of the new bath, will we need an electrician for this?
Also, if anyone knows any builders and/or plumbers in the Southampton area that they could recommend that would be great!
Also, what have I missed re: materials?
Any advice and help would be greatly appreciated as I want to make sure I have set a realistic target!

You have missed tile adhesive and grout this will be atleast as much as the tiles!!
770 is not enough for labour
By shower rail do you mean to hold the curtin or the shower head holder?
Why do you want a shower curtain they are the devils own work!

Ah I knew I missed something, thanks MX
We can't have a screen as there is a window in the way and no where else we can put the bath. So shower curtain is only option. By rail I mean what the curtain hangs off.
We already have a rail for the shower head to sit in

I worked out a budget if we went for a straight bath... It comes to about 1087 and that is with a new sink. But if we had a straight bath we could just keep our existing sink if we couldn't afford it. Is £1000 more realistic for labour? Has anyone had a bathroom done recently? How much was your labour cost?Kavanne

Had 2 quotes back of 550 and 600 for labour only so far.... so maybe I am thinking my £2000 is OK?Kavanne

Possibly. I'm hoping to do a bathroom for around £2.5K, with a shower bath, tiling etc.
Wait until you get a few more quotes. I've had stupidly low ones such as £300 which screams "cowboy" at me, and very expensive ones over £2K which seem too expensive.
The people who seem decent with liability insurance, photo's of previous work and references are quoting around £700-£1K so I'll probably go with one of those. Here I go again on my own....0 -

Thats where I found my builder from - absolutely fantastic guy and done loads of other work for me too!MFW 2011 challenge - Aim: Overpay £414.26 a month/£5,000 a year. Overpayment Total to date: £414.26:jMortgage start 28/9/07 £46,217.00 :TMortgage balance as of 25/05/11 £24,490.58 :T
Interest saved as of 25/05/11: £2,849.84 Projected term reduction as of 25/05/11: 9 years 11 months0 -
I'm aiming to do my bathroom for £3k all in ...doing most of the work ourselves so not much labour costs (other than plasterer really). That's for decent quality stuff though - Twyford back-to-wall toilet and countertop basin, Twyford quadrant shower enclosure, MX shower tray, Grohe shower valve, Crosswater taps, Grohe enclosed toilet cistern, Abacus towel rail. We could probably do it for less but it would be at the sacrifice of quality. The cost soon adds up on all the little things too...like adhesives, grout, sealants etc etc. I've had to buy quite a few tools too...which i'm not including in my budget.

I have had about 4 quotes now all around £600-700 and one at £880!! lol
My boyfriend has got a summer job which should net him about £3000 and he has pledged £1000 of that to the bathroom so we can now spend £3000 if necesssary but tbh I think I would struggle to spend that much?Kavanne
