Hi
The problem has just started today, the comp shuts down for no reason whatsoever.
The whole system is switched off, when i try to restart it it wont restart unless i jiggle the power cable near the back of the comp tower.
Any ideas as to what may be the matter.

Maybe the cpu fan is blocked and the cpu is getting hot? It would shut your system down to prevent the cpu from burning out.I'm not poor i'm just skint0

Hi
To find out if your system is overheating, download this little free program, its a temp monitor for your hd/cpu/motherboard and it can change your fans speeds.

if it re-occurs, blow out the debris from the motherboard, particularly round the CPU, also worth reseating RAM + Graphics cards while it's openEx forum ambassador

It wouldn't happen to be a dodgy power cable by and chance? Have you got a spare you could try using?when i try to restart it it wont restart unless i jiggle the power cable near the back of the comp tower.0
