*waves frantically at Fay*
The Hebrides are a bit like that with trees - or lack of them - too. It gets so after a while you go round a corner and there's a tree and you immediately find yourself commenting on it, which is a bit wierd when you consider that we spend 50 weeks of the year living opposite a forest!
Rather than hitting DOS over the head with a mallet I think you should use a cricket bat - it would at least be topical to what you're studying!🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Sounds about right to me Fay;) Although would rather gnaw my left foot off than watch cricket * shudders* Think it went worse when the Aussie bloke took over.Mr.B watches at every opportunity 'anything with a ball in it' as the saying goes:rotfl:Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -

hi fay glad to hear that you had an 'intersting' meeting. Hope that something good comes from it.
:eek:To being examined in June. Is this a way of freaking you out, so that you give up? I really hope you do well and that they continue to fund you. I mean it would be silly to give up now, when you have all the work already done....But I know that academia is not logical.
In other news, it is all your fault Fay!! I didn't need the two pairs of stripey socks i bought today. But I was feeling down cos OH is in the states for two weeks, and thought Fay would say yes. LOL:D
Hope the work goes well
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Never say no to a stripey sock!
<waves>
Glad to hear you're doing alright Fay, don't give up now! After 5 years I've finally reached the dizzy heights with my supervisor - yes, yesterday he emailed and said:
"this is nice - needs more work obviously but I think it works as a piece of writing"
I nearly fell over with the shock!
You too can get this far... Good luck!0 -
Back from a great few days on Isle of Skye, thanks for the tips. We got to the lighthouse recommended and travelled all over the island, It was Great!! gotta go back Soon!. Weather wasn't great but with the right kit it was fine.
OH & I thinking of buying a campervan now to do more touring.

Madman works just fine too Piq.
