I'm not a fan of chocolate either Fay! Give me a huge bag of crisps any day. Joining Rosemary Conley tonight. Need desperately to lose about 3 stone at least. Done it before with her programme so gonna try again.
Wish me luck!

 Update... !!!!!! B*****d boss has now changed his mind again... I am now not to be a 1st author after all on this work, mearly one of dozen or so authors. @^$#h0le senior Postdoc is still a 1st author despite doing 0% of the experimental work, having naff all "intellectual input" and only being involved in the writing. :wall:  Remind me again why I work for this man? At least I didn't cry when he told me...
Apologies for being super grumpy on your lovely thread

ok moral dilemma alert.
Back in october i paid my credit card in full, and to stop panic's set up a direct debit to pay it off in full each month. Cheeky monkey's took the DD payment the day after i paid them manully even though they said they couldn't/wouldn't.
Of course i got in touch straight away to inform them i was invoking the DD guarantee and just so they had it on record. At this stage they denied taking the DD, said they didn't have my money therefore it was ok to invoke the DD guarentee.
Still with me????? do you need refills?
Roll forward a month, i get my money back under the guarentee, then suddenly the second payment they say the didn't get appears on my statement, so it shows i've paid the same amount twice. I contact them again and say the accounts wrong, they've refunded me the money, please make sure they take that's months money etc and bloomin can they sort it out.
Another month down the line, they didn't take that months payment, and are still showing the duplicate payment. Again chase, now they say my bank hasn't requested it back (rubbish cos they had sent me a copy of the letter fromt the bank asking for it back)
........ nothing happens.......... nothing happens........nothing happens
finally i contact them in writing insisting that they sort this mess out. End result is that they still say they haven't refunded it, my account shows the same payment twice and they say their DD team can't find the refund anwhere.
Now for the dilemma: they've reduced the discount i used to get off my petrol and i seem to be using the card for loads of other stuff, and although i pay it off in full each month the balance keeps getting higher. What i want to do is cancel the card but i still feel that i owe the money even if they say i don't, i don't want them coming back after me after a year etc and ruining my credit rating.
What shall i do? Keep it and chop it up or close the account and hope their records never get straight?
sorry to bore you all, better than a dose of nitol! hope you've enjoyed your cuppa's whilst you have read this, but i'd love your opinions.0 -
Get them to confirm in writing that everything is hunky dory and then close the account.

Yep I agree with Lucielle.
Isnt there some law thing that they cant persue it after 5 years? I know its not been 5 years but if they say no its all clear then at least you dont have to worry. (That didnt really make sense but I know what I mean!!!:rotfl:)
I wouldnt worry about feeling you still owe the money as they have never worried about charging you interest and stuff have they ?And its not like you have laid low and not pointed out the error is it?
Stop being so nice!!!:A
