Get well soon, hate that cotton wool head feeling. Steam your head as much as you can bear to get it all out......yuk!
Am getting impatient, we don't have any green shoots coming up yet from our seeds that we planted oooooo days ago! I want my garden to look like Wakehurst gardens, where we went today, lol.0 -
Hello all :j
It has just taken me 4 days to read 78 pages of posts! I never thought I was going to get to the end of it all, but I have soldiered on and finally, finally made it! :j
I did think about just starting at the end and catching up, but decided that before I could ask to join the ‘Stripey Sock’ group, that I should at least have the decency to read all your previous posts!!
I have laughed til I cried at some of the posts. Birds and hamsters in the freezer, frozen mice in the ex’s boxes, frozen elephants……. :rotfl:
Fay – has your landlord decided what he is going to do with the house? What a shame if you have to leave after all the work you have put in! All that space! My garden is quite small and has lots of well established bushes in it (don’t know what half of them are tho!), so I really don’t have the room to have a huge veg patch.
My OH is building me a raised bed (bad back and shoulder from RTA), half brick/half wood (yet to get, have asked on freecycle, but no joy as yet!!) so I will grow some small things in there. I have also started a couple of buckets with potatoes in and some salad leaves. I will also be growing copious amounts of tomatoes as I usually do, although this year, I am going to try doing them in hanging baskets. I have also got a three tier planter that I was given which I am going to grow strawberries.
Unixgirl – hope you are having some luck with another job after being made redundant. My oh was made redundant – unexpectedly – 5 weeks ago, fortunately, he has snince found another job, better money and closer to home very quickly, but it was a really hairy time for a while!
Piquant – well what can I say – all I can remember about you is whips! Lol
And to everyone else who is a regular on this board (sorry I cant remember all the names!!), I hope you accept me into your ‘stripey socks club’. I have already told my DD that I want to go and buy some!!! (She thinks I am mad!)
I look forward to chatting to you all!Married the absolute love of my life on Sunday May 6th and I couldnt be happier!!!0 -
HI All
Head still fuzzy up and about and lemsip is my chum - rearranged my boat to eveing sailing as the plan was to go at lunchtime today but wasn't able to function too early as full of coldygoodness.
L hello how's tricks
Uni x - I think an order to approved foods is not really the same as a pair of jimmy choo's!! Well done on ordering some stuff - its too expensive to get it up to us
KK - I sympathise with you - going away for me has helped cos my seeds aren't missing me stressing over them!! Sure the garden will look great.
Piq will come and meddle in your diary later on and see what you have been upto
BLUis - Goodmorning and welcome - 'stripey socks club' would be fun!! Glad you trawled through it all - nice to hear from you - just buy your daughter a pair of socks too - mine are mostly 'shared' with my DD. Frozen elephants - the turkey I have stashed in the cold bag ready for the trip home is indeed the size of an elephant!!!!!
I feel all grown up now - (as if) I have my very own stardrops (thanks Unix) and I even bought another couple bottles in Mr S for 75p? big bottles they had ran out in Asda.
Both OH and SIL have microfibre clothes now - so your wisdom is passed on.
Right ready for action spent about £250sih/300 at the moment and it looks like I have singled handedly robbed several supermarkets even the passenger side footwell is full of loo rolls and tissuesKept the inside area of darwin free for my stop later on as its nice to be able to have a cuppa etc
Peedie has had a billion walks and a hair cut and a bath - he was a bit sulky but seems ok now
DD phoned yesterday to say WOO HOO they travel today and will be home tomorrow - DS doesnt seem to have done any of his essay (I can hardly speak as when I said hmmmmmm - he asked how my literature review was going.......slopes off whistling the archers theme tune!!)

Getting married in August too and still trying to sort that out!CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. HI all, had a really busy day in the garden today after taking the sproglets to the local canal festival!
Planted: tomatoes, potatoes, chives, basil, peppers, chillis, various flowers (cant remember the names!), lettuce, rocket, salad mix, parsley. think thats it! didnt get y strawberry plants yet, will get them later this week.
Hope you have had a safe trip home Fay. Did you manage to fill Darwin to the top? I would love a Darwin of my own.
Unixgirl - heres hoping you get another job soon then hun! Planning a wedding itself is stressful! When I get married again, I've decided, registry office and then a hog roast and buffet (with lots of veggie things for my veggie pals!) at the local. No mess, no fuss!
Fay, I have sent you a pm about my garden, hope you dont mind!
Speak soon (ps, got some stripey socks today!!!! will wear them tmrw at work under my trousers.
