You missed the point: the retailer has closed all their stores. There is, as far as the original poster can see, no one to go back to.
Assuming you (OP) missed the final day of stores being open, give the publisher a call.

There are still stores open, It depends if the OP lives near one that hasn't closed yet. I think another thing people are missing is that Zavvi are operating a policy of not refunding or accepting returns currently (due to terms of their administrators) which is why this thread was started?0 -
pennystretcher wrote: »You can take the DVD back and demand for either a refund or a replacement - under Sale of Goods Act the item has to be "as described" and obviously if the box says e.g. episodes 1 - 10 and the DVDs only have episodes 1-8, the item isn't as described.
In short from Which? website:
"When you buy goods you enter into a contract with the seller of those goods. Under the Sale of Goods Act 1979 goods must be:- as described
- of satisfactory quality, and
- fit for purpose – this means both their everyday purpose, and also any specific purpose that you agreed with the seller (for example, if you specifically asked for a printer that would be compatible with your computer).
Your rights now are in practice much more limited,as the company is in administration. So, you can return the goods, and you have the rights above, but you become an unsecured creditor, with little hope of getting any money back. So, your best bet is to talk to the publishers and see if they will help you out.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
